Andrew and Anthony are brewing enthusiasts who founded Forgotten Island Brewery in 2018, inspired by the rugged beauty of their home state. They focus on brewing traditional British ales with a unique Australian twist, using their own hops when suitable to create truly Tasmanian beers with natural variations in flavor.

Along the way he has developed his knowledge and thrives on experimenting with new recipes which incorporate different flavours and elements. From an initial idea, Anthony is able to build a recipe around it to form the basis of a new brew. Anthony has also extended his knowledge of craft beer onto growing his own hops to give a fresh seasonal edge to his brews.

Like many others, Andrews home brew journey started in the kitchen with a tin of Coopers brew mix and a plastic fermenting container. That was over 13 years ago, since then he has moved to hops and grains and has never looked back. Andrew stepped to the next level when he decided to extend his passion into the field of growing and cultivating his own hops plants. His crop currently produces over 15kgs of hops which are mostly dried and frozen for future brews.

Our secret weapon - Stefanie is the one that gave us a gentle push to take the next step and help our ambitions become a reality. The driving force behind the paperwork and social media marketing of our brand. She knows nothing about beer, brewing or hops and in fact doesn’t have any taste buds for the stuff - But she sure does know how to appeal to a market! One of our most favorite beers - a harmonious blend of the classic Irish Red Ale and the unique essence of Tasmanian hops. The result is a masterfully crafted ale, created with our proprietary hops, the Pride of Ringwood and Red Earth, that offers a smooth and pleasurable drinking experience. This unfiltered lager undergoes natural conditioning, providing a crisp and refreshing taste with each sip.
Drawing elements from the traditional Sahti style from Finland, our Viking Ale offers a delightful blend of sweet, bread-like flavors complemented by the distinct character of juniper berries. With minimal hop usage, this ale boasts a warm mouthfeel and a full body, making it the perfect brew to chase away the winter blues.
Crafted with adherence to traditional methods, this brew is fermented using only the finest German ingredients, resulting in a flavor profile that showcases the delicate flavors which this style should naturally exhibit.
Our interpretation of the Irish stout style is a full-bodied and easy-to-drink brew. It boasts a bold and rich flavor profile, with notes of roasted and chocolate accents, and a bouquet of coca0 and coffee aromas. This unfiltered ale undergoes natural conditioning, ensuring a pure and crisp taste in every sip.
We've crafted a traditional English golden ale using only the best ingredients sourced from the UK. The perfect harmony of hops and malt results in a satisfying and refreshing beer, with subtle notes of caramel and freshly baked bread. The finish is marked by beautiful earthy and citrusy aromas, leaving a dry sensation in the mouth. This beer is a great thirst-quencher.
Our Extra Pale Ale is an innovative take on the classic style, featuring a medium-bodied structure and a prominent hop-forward character. The blend of citrus fruits, pine needles, and passionfruit create a harmonious balance of flavors, resulting in a thoroughly enjoyable beer that's perfect for any occasion.
